MALAYSIA played second fiddle to Thailand in sepaktakraw again in the men’s team. True enough, Malaysia were no match for Thailand. The Malaysian first regu of Mohd Normanizam Ahmad (tekong), Ariff Ramli (apit kiri) and Mohd Futra Ghani (apit kanan) were beaten 16-21, 10-21 by first regu of Thai players in less than an hour. The second Malaysian regu of Noor Azman Hamid (tekong), Norshahruddin Mad Ghani (apit kanan) and Farhan Adam (apit kiri) lost 15-21, 17-21 to second regu of Thai in 50 minutes.

BOTH Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong went sprawling at the same time in trying to save the match and their precious Asian Games men’s doubles crown.The Indonesians, Markis Kido-Hendra Setiawan won the 58-minute slugfest 16-21, 26-24, 21-19 to complete their impressive collection of major titles after having won at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2007 World Championships.

World champion Nicol David and Mohd Azlan Iskander won gold medals for Malaysia. Nicol recorded an 11-8, 8-11, 11-6, 11-7 victory over Hong Kong's Au Wing Chi for her third Asian Games gold. Mohd Azlan, who was beaten in the Asian Games final four years ago, defeated Pakistan's Aamir Atlas Khan in straight games in the men's singles final. World No. 15, Mohd Azlan overpowered Khan for 11-6, 11-7, 11-6. 
Low Wee Wern and Ong Beng Hee from Malaysia got bronze medals.
